I met Dawn at a 4Networking event in Frome. She’s a really interesting South African, and she impressed me with her grasp of FaceBook. She’s helped me get to grips with this hateful, yet almost mandatory marketing channel. I can’t thank her enough for her input and assistance.
In Dawn’s own words:
I am African, not because I was born there, but because Africa is in me, it is who I am!
The African continent it creative, colourful and alive with energy and passion. My commitment to my roots is to be the voice for communities that don’t have a way to ‘shout’ about the amazing things they do.
I import unique African gifts from community groups that support and empower men and women. The groups are often poor, isolated and are generally in a high unemployment area and are mostly made up of women. They learn new skills and grow as individuals, but most importantly, they reduce their economic isolation and are able to provide for their families.
The gifts are either recycled, created using socially responsible techniques and the fabrics and components are ethically sourced.
